“To my surprise, the band played on, the elephants splashed away, and nobody showed up,” Bhakta said of the stunt. “I’m astounded.” . . . “If I can get an elephant led by a mariachi band into this country, I think Osama bin Laden could get across with all the weapons of mass destruction he could get into this country,” Bhakta said."

It was a wonderful day for baseball this afternoon at the Coliseum! Cloudy, cold, windy, and a sold-out stadium!

That's Milton Bradley with his batting coach just after he hit a home run to help the A's send the Twins back to Minnesota with their deep-fried heads between their deep-fried knees. And it took only three games in the best-of-five American League Division series.

Starting next Tuesday, we'll be playing either Detroit or some expensive team from new york city for the American League Championship.

Can it really only be coincidence that tomorrow is the autumnal equinox (i.e. when, more or less, daylight equals nighttime)as well as Rosh Hashanah, the day before Ramadan,and the first day of the A's final regular-season series against the Angels? Dunno, do you?
